Sing Along With Me

Come on sisters. Sing along with me. I dare you because even if you don't sing it out loud it will stay in your head all day. Now Kristi, I know you aren't quite here yet but make your elderly sisters feel good and sing with us to the tune of My Favorite Things. Ready......go!

(click the arrow to hear the music outside of your head)

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Taste buds gone all wrong, can't find those damn glasses,
Don't have to tolerate any dumb asses,
We can wear purple and big gaudy rings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Bald heads and hairy legs, can't see for good grooming,
Doctors and nurses, blood tests all a looming,
Memory is fading, our underwear clings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Back pains, confused brains, and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache,
When the hips break, the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

You just make aging sound so appealing and fun - NOT. Hey, you forgot to mention the stray hairs that seem to just appear overnight in unwanted places - what's up with that?

This is horrible mother! Man way to let me look into the future and get depressed! It was actually pretty funny though. :)
