A Baby Shower and An Excuse for a Fun Little Project

Hey Sisters! Niece Autumn's baby shower was yesterday. With all this hunting around on the internet to find craft projects for our bizarre, I've become addicted!!! Autumn's shower gave me an excuse to make these for her package:

Here's a close up of the shoes - all made from scrapbook paper - sorry its not the best quality picture because they really were cute!

What Ya Hidin?

What ya hidin Lexie?

We are so excited (especially Lexie) to announce that Lexie's two bottom teeth are coming in!!!! As you know Lexie hasn't had her 8 front teeth since she was two years old due to her severe reflux issues. Well, the other day she kept saying that the bottom of her tongue was bugging her. I took a look, and low and behold - TEETH! She is thrilled and is already trying to bite into an apple with them!!!

Another Crafty Item

Hey sisters I have been lining up some projects and this is one I completed in just a couple of hours. It is really cute and easy to make. The only thing is it turns out much smaller than the photo. So I think I will work on just a bit bigger version.

Baker City Bible Quizzing Team

OK this is a warning - this a a totally bragging post - so if you don't want to deal with it - don't read on!!!! Jordan, Addie and Lexie are members of the Baker City Bible Quizzing Team. 9 kids show up at my house twice a week from September through March to study, play games and learn God's Word. This year they studied inside and out the Book of Exodus. These kids know the history, geography and scripture memory of this Book backwards and forwards! The team competes three times a year against over 200 other kids from 1st-6th grade in the Boise area. They study over 600 questions, the Scripture itself and of course memorize 40-60 verses/passages in the process. THEY WORK SO HARD!!! They had their final meet yesterday in Boise - a really tough meet. After all that studying, they answer questions at the meet that are new or re-worded and recite verses as bonuses. They competed against 41 teams, many to the top teams being all 5th & 6th graders. Our team has two sixth graders and the rest are 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders. O.k....... drum roll please...... THEY WON FIRST PLACE - WOO HOO - BRAVO!!!! This is one thrilled, proud and tired quizzing coach!!!!!

Jordan, Addie & Lexie receiving their trophies for having perfect memory in addition to memorizing the two challenge passages (over 60 verses in all)!

Lexie with her first trophy ever - she was so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Addie with her trophy:

Jordan - the ole pro - he's accomplished this award since he started quizzing - 5 years in a row!! He is graduating from junior quizzing this year (sniff sniff says the coach and mom) and will be heading on to teen quizzing next year which is even more challenging!!!!

OK - I'm done bragging for now (wink, wink). I'll have to post a video with them rattling off their memory verses - they make my head spin!!!!

Addie's Birthday Bash

Well hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted because my camera died and now I'm trying to figure out the new one I have!!! It looks like it can do some really neat stuff but I have no idea how to work it and haven't had the time to figure it out!!! I'll be trying to update ya'll on our homeschool/life adventures that have occurred in the last month in the next week or so. For now, I will share some pictures from Addie's birthday party. I had promised to show you the cake (remember the one Addie couldn't decide what she wanted). We kind of went with the Valentine theme, but Addie had to have a princess or ballerina or something .... So here it is:

She kind of turned out to be a little bit of a wrinkled faced ballerina but she was pretty cute anyway!

Since we were going for the heart theme, I had to do Addie's hair in a "heart" hairdo:

And here is the table decked out for the girlie girl party:

Here are some cake pops made for the occasion. I got the idea from Bakerella - they are yummy and of course have no calories!!!

And here is the birthday girl with her cake.

And here's all the gals at the party.

And then there is Daddy Pat joining in on the birthday games - surprise, surprise!!!!
